The field of light-meson spectroscopy has received recently a new boost from a large quantity of data emerging from the phi factories and from the study of heavy quark decays. Several issues, such as the existence of a glueball, the nature of the f0(400-1200) or sigma meson, are still open to investigation. This series will review the current status of the field, both from its experimental and theoretical perspectives.
